Business Information Systems (BIS) is an interdisciplinary master that focuses on the issues of ‘business IT alignment’. It examines how modern ICT contributes to the realization of organizational goals, within a setting where: • change (and even crisis) is normal • organizations are part of chains or networks The consistency of information systems has to be maintained across organizational boundaries, in a sustainable and dynamic way. BIS focuses on how to use ICT to model and solve organizational problems, by providing a balance of key business and technology skills. The program’s broad base enables understanding the needs of software engineers as well as business managers and users.
Information studies is a broad and interdisciplinary field, primarily concerned with the analysis, collection, classification, manipulation, storage, retrieval and dissemination of information. It examines the interaction between people, organizations and any existing information systems, with the aim of creating, replacing, improving or understanding information systems. Information studies tackles systemic problems first rather than individual pieces of technology within that system: it focuses on understanding information problems from the perspective of the stakeholders involved, and then applying technologies as needed. Not only aspects of computer science are incorporated, but also of research fields like cognitive science, commerce, communications, management, philosophy, public policy, and the social sciences.

Responsibilities: Responsible for a team that manages a large data platform used by investment teams for data management and data flows in processes as data science, quantitatieve strategies, and portfolio rebalancing (20 terrabyte and over 300b EUR assets under management). - Building a new cloud-native data platform as a replacement for a legacy solution with a team of in-house and external specialists. - Combined management role with product owner role. - Full analysis of data and data streams for 12 key stakeholding teams (500+ plus people) throughout NNIP internationally. - Process improvements for regulatory reporting, ESG reporting and Investment strategies (incl. sustainable investing strategies). - Interfacing data environment and interfacing to numerous systems in a highly complex architecture.
